Scotties News · Scottie wrestlers honored on Senior Night

Last Thursday night, January 3 at Tri-Valley gymnasium, the Scotties hosted perennial Muskingum Valley League wrestling power New Lexington in a dual match on Senior Night for the three TV wrestlers – (pictured below) Sky Wisecarver, Cai Reynolds, and Sawyer Hanby – and their senior manager, Brooke Hunter.

Coach John Hardman’s Scottie wrestlers were hoping to repeat last season’s historic performance, when they defeated New Lexington on the Panthers home mat 41-33 for Tri-Valley’s first victory over the orange and black clad matmen in 30 years.

But this year – in Dresden – the visiting Panthers used a pair of late heavyweight wins to secure an exciting 42-31 road win over the host Scotties.

Tri-Valley’s Sky Wisecarver (106 pound weight class), Joseph Eckelberry (126), Connor McIntire (145), Karter Jones (152), Dylan Hines (182), and A.J. Collins (195) picked up mat wins for the Scotties, who dropped their second MVL dual match of the season.

Tri-Valley hosts Watkins Memorial on Friday night, January 11 in Dresden at TVHS gymnasium.
