Tri-Valley’s Lady Dawg volleyball squad picked up a pair of wins to start the week, improving their 2019 record to 3-1 on the young season.
Monday night, August 26 on the road at Zanesville, the Lady Dawgs earned a 25-10, 25-10, 25-10 win over their non-conference neighbors, the Lady Devils.
Statistically for the winners, Abby Stanford contributed five aces, three blocks, four digs and 10 kills, Hannah King chipped in three aces, three digs, and five kills, Madi Bobo had nine digs, Riley Albertson was credited for five aces, 11 assists and five digs, Kendra Thomas served an ace with eight assists and three digs, and Trinity VanDusen served a pair of aces and had 10 digs.
Just 24 hours later, the Lady Dawgs were back in action again, this time back in the friendly confines of their home court in Dresden at The Dawg House, where they notched an important Tuesday night 20-25, 28-26, 25-8, 25-19 victory over visiting Muskingum Valley League foe, the New Lexington Lady Panthers.
For the winners, Abby Stanford led the way with an ace, a pair of blocks and solo blocks each, and nine kills. Also contributing solid performances in the win were: Riley Albertson (four aces, 15 assists, and nine digs), Madi Bobo (one ace and 19 digs), Kendra Thomas (three aces, 13 assists, and four digs), Trinity VanDusen (one ace and 15 digs), and Reece Smalley (four blocks, two solo blocks, and four kills).
Coach Aubrey Painter’s Lady Dawg netters return to the court on Saturday, August 31, when they welcome conference foe Morgan to the Dawg House and TVHS. JV action gets underway at 10:00 a.m., followed by the varsity contest.
