Thursday night, September 5 on the road at West Muskingum, Coach Aubrey Painter’s Tri-Valley volleyball squad got back on the winning track after their Sep. 3 loss to Sheridan, as the visiting Lady Dawgs defeated the host Lady Tornadoes 21-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-14.
The win improved Tri-Valley’s record to 4-1 in Muskingum Valley League play.
Statistically, the Lady Dawgs were led by Abby Stanford, who had 7 blocks, 3 stuff blocks, and 11 kills; Reece Smalley (6 blocks, 3 stuff blocks, 2 kills); Riley Albertson (19 assists, 5 digs); Kendra Thomas (16 assists, 1 ace, 4 digs); Trinity VanDusen (20 digs); Madi Bobo (16 digs); Hannah King (9 digs, 12 kills); and Lexi Howe (1 stuff block, 4 digs, and 10 kills).
The Tri-Valley Junior Varsity also defeated West Muskingum in two sets, and were led by: Brooke Kozusko (12 digs), Katya Liber (7 kills), Aubrey Fritter (18 assists), and Naomi Wachter-Francis (5 kills).
After a Saturday, September 7 road trip to non-conference foe Dover, the Lady Dawgs return to the friendly confines of their ‘Dawg House’ home court in Dresden at TVHS on Tuesday, September 10, when the host last year’s MVL co-champ, the John Glenn Lady Muskies. Freshman action gets underway at 5:00 p.m., with the JV and varsity games to follow.
