Coach Kurt Kaufman’s Tri-Valley girls basketball team completed its dominate march through their OHSAA East District D-II three-game ‘home stand’ Sectional, dispatching 12th seeded East Liverpool 68-12 Saturday afternoon, Feb. 22 in Dresden.
The win gave the Lady Dawgs a Sectional title, and earned them a Wed. night, Feb 26 date with 4th seeded Dover in a district semi-final game to be played at West Holmes High School in Millersburg.
In the East Liverpool game, all ten Tri-Valley players cracked the scoring column in a contest that saw the hosts jump out to an 18-3 first break lead, then shut out the Lady Potters in the second quarter to take a commanding 40-3 lead into the halftime break.
For the third post season game in a row, the Lady Dawgs utilized a 35-point plus second half lead and running clock to speed up the inevitable, and final 68-12 winning tally.

Kyndal Howe added nine counters, and Audrey Spiker eight points for the balanced winners. Mikayla Reed’s five points led the Lady Potters.
