Tri-Valley wrestling Scotties celebrate 2018-19 season with annual awards and recognition banquet

Back on April 2, in the Tri-Valley High School cafetorium, Coach Jon Hardman and his Scottie wrestling team celebrated their successful 2018-19 wrestling season with their annual awards banquet. Tri-Valley High wrestling senior Sky Wisecarver is headed back to the OHSAA Division I Individual Wrestling State Tournament –  this weekend at OSU’s Schottenstein Center –  for the second straight year, joining a select few of Scottie wrestlers who have earned multiple trips to the holy grail of high school wrestling. Scottie matmen earn third place at MVL Meet; TV’s Joseph Eckelberry wrestles to MVL title; Tri-Valley competes this weekend in Sectionals at Marysville High School

Coach Jon Hardman’s Tri-Valley wrestling team finished in third place at Saturday’s annual – and regular-season ending –  Muskingum Valley League Meet. Sheridan won the meet with 161 points, followed by runnerup New Lexington with 147.5 points, then Tri-Valley, with 140 points. Congratulations to Tri-Valley senior wrestler Sky Wisecarver, who hit a milestone on the mats this past weekend, earning career win No. 100 during competition at the Mason Boyd Memorial Tournament at Watkins Memorial.  Wisecarver, a state qualifier last season for the wrestling Scotties, finished in third place in the 106 pound weight class at the prestigious

Two Scotties Advance to State Wrestling Tournament

Junior Sky Wisecarver and Freshman Joseph Eckelberry advanced to the State Wrestling Meet with strong showings at the Hilliard Darby District Meet on Saturday.  Eckleberry dominated his semi-final match to advance to the final where he lost but still earned a runner-up finish to advance.  Wisecarver lost his semi-final match but came back to win

Hernandez is D1 Central District Champion; Qualifies for State

Congrats to Luke Hernandez for winning the Division 1 Central District Championship today at Hilliard Darby. He won the title match on a 16-7 major decision to win the crown at 132 lbs. Jimmy Priest also had a nice weekend finishing in 6th place. With the finish, Luke Hernandez qualifies to wrestle in the Ohio

Fellows, Hernandez, Priest are MVL Champs

Tri-Valley hosted the MVL Wrestling Championships over the weekend. Justin Danhauer, Matt Gianettino, and Chase Higgins finished 4th place, Skyler Wisecarver and Caden Walcott finished in 3rd place, Austin Vensil finished in 2nd place, Ryan Fellows, Jimmy Priest, and Luke Hernandez won championships. Luke Hernandez was voted the tournaments most outstanding wrestler.
